ABOUT ME

Meet Roberta, a highly experienced and compassionate Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a diverse background in psychotherapy. Her journey began in Brazil, where she earned her psychology degree in 2002, setting the foundation for her career.

Driven by a passion for understanding the human mind and behavior, Roberta delved deeper into her studies, specializing in Psychoanalytic Theory. To further enhance her expertise, she completed rigorous psychoanalytic training through an institution affiliated with the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). Her dedication to learning didn't stop there, as she also obtained a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from NSU.

With over two decades of experience in private practice, Roberta has had the privilege of working with diverse clients, including children, teenagers, adults, and couples from various nationalities. Her versatile skill set allows her to address a wide range of issues, helping her clients navigate through life's challenges and find emotional healing and growth.

Roberta's passion for guiding and nurturing aspiring mental health professionals is evident through her role as a supervisor and mentor to undergraduate Brazilian students in Projeto Emília. By imparting her knowledge and experience, she has played a vital role in shaping the next generation of clinical psychologists.

Notably, Roberta is the visionary behind two transformative programs. The first, Grupo Ninho, is a dedicated reflection and counseling group that focused on parenthood and its associated challenges through the different phases of a child's life. This program empowered parents and caregivers to develop healthier relationships with their children, fostering a nurturing and supportive family environment.

The second initiative, Families ConnecTeen, reflects Roberta's commitment to mental health advocacy. This program, created for the Weston community, raises awareness about mental health issues among teenagers and helps bridge the gap between parents and their adolescent children. By fostering open communication and understanding within families and the community, Families ConnecTeen plays a crucial role in promoting mental well-being among young individuals.

Throughout her career, Roberta has been an integral part of various settings, including hospitals and daycares, where she has applied her skills to support individuals of all ages. Additionally, she received specialized training in collaborative divorce as a child specialist, further showcasing her dedication to assisting families during difficult transitions.

Roberta's expertise, empathy, and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others have made her a respected and influential figure in the field of psychology (in Brazil) and Marriage and Family Therapy (USA). With her guidance and support, many individuals and families have found the strength to overcome challenges and achieve lasting emotional well-being.
